I'm a huge yarn snob, but sometimes, you just need to use an acrylic yarn. It's completely easy care and you know that if you throw it in the dryer, it's going to look the same when it comes out as it did when it went in. There's just one problem, though: acrylic yarns can be terrible. Squeaky. Plastic-y. Just...wrong.
Well, Uptown Worsted from Universal Yarns threw my preconceived ideas about acrylic yarn out the window. It's soft and not at all squeaky, it doesn't split and, dare I say, it's pleasurable to work with. I've made baby blankets and toys, and Uptown Worsted would make great kids' clothes. Do you know anyone who's adverse to wool? Make their day and introduce them to this yarn.
Uptown Worsted is 10% off during the month of July (offer not good on special orders). It's the perfect time to revisit acrylic yarn!
